OPENING FILM: “Your skin is the galaxy” 4:00 PM Session: Stay Brave Human
An enigmatic and poetic sci-fi musical adventure about a being from another galaxy who comes to earth in search of love. A hypnotic experience somewhere between Z series, Manga comics, Superhero movies and Psychedelics. A sensory journey that makes its way through ‘Lynchian’ roads, which cross mountains created between sheets that embrace the skin and soul of the protagonist who lies helpless, turns this short film into a whole new experience for the viewer.

Dark Cell – Stay Brave Human 4:05 PM
Two convicts in an orbital prison are doing what they usually do, which is to say, not much. Suddenly, two panicked guards armed to the teeth burst into their cell. The guards tell them that the orbital prison has just been invaded by blood-thirsty zombie-type creatures. If they want to survive, their only solution is to eject their cell and return to Earth. But when the ejection order is entered into the computer, it refuses it. The cell, designed for two occupants only, now holds four people. There can only be two lucky winners… and there’s not much time to pick them.

Wakener is a Sci-Fi Horror film that follows a broken and haunted ship technician and a young, honorable military officer. Their paths collide when a ghost ship powered by tech outlawed centuries ago mysteriously appears at Point Station. The station’s chief officer orders the ship secretly investigated for nefarious reasons. As a result, the Technician and Officer are compelled to fulfill an ancient and catastrophic destiny.

While, the rich are able to live out their days with dignity, the poor must fight tooth and nail for the simplest of pleasures: even a breath of fresh air. In this world, one poor man is being manipulated by the state to help them weed out a small but effective resistance movement. This movement’s transgression? Growing their own plants.. The state and shareholders of the last remaining nature do not like any competition.

The film leans into the sci-fi genre in creating a space of wonder and heroism for young people amidst a time where the world can be a scary place with a lot of fear and uncertainty. Our protagonist Jules looks up to the stars and wonders if we will ever get to explore the worlds and galaxies we are yet to see, or even begin to imagine. Love and exploration are the central themes that bind the story together. And, of course, there are some intergalactic villains along the way.

The Button Lady is a supernatural, action short about the mysterious Button Lady, an immortal high priestess of the ancient god Tanit, who is charged with protecting the last living descendants of the Battle of Carthage. When she becomes concerned about the secret location of Becky, the current last in line, the Button Lady decides to confirm that she is still safe. But when a trio of supernaturally imbued acolytes discover Becky’s whereabouts and attempt to capture her, to use her blood to resurrect their fire-lord Moloch, the Button Lady must defeat the three assailants, in spite of the fact that they are on Becky’s doorstep and the Button Lady must keep all knowledge of these facts, a secret.

In the worst of times, science conquers death. A micronation of bio-titans is created — a new breed of loveless asexual immortal men built to fit the golden ratio Phi 1.618. The female sex has become obsolete as immortal men do not procreate. The immortal calligrapher Krypton is tasked to create an indestructible copy of the entire bio-titanic written heritage. He must copy all existing books but one. If copied, that book will bedevil the universe. As Krypton is about to toss the forbidden book in an incinerator, it transforms into a wickedly feisty punk girl named Gargara. She challenges Krypton to wake up Sleeping Beauty with a kiss. Krypton tries but fails. His kiss is powerless. They need a super potent miracle balm called Kykeon. To get it, they embark on a dangerous journey through a Boschian wasteland. On the road, they bump into Karbon 666, a vengeful lone-wolf terrorist who is on his way to blow up the spaceship. Krypton and Gargara find themselves in a frantic race against time. They need to bring Sleeping Beauty back to life and save the fairytale before it turns into a raging nightmare.

Things don’t go very well, and Penny ends up face down in the alley after being thrown out by the owner. Defeated, she quickly turns to a familiar vice, shooting smack to ease the pain. As her high subsides, a dark presence approaches her with a proposition: Penny gives up three souls, and all her dreams come true.

The year is 2057. For six years the extraterrestrial invaders have occupied our world. The harvest of humankind has begun. When they arrived, everything was lost. The people, the land the system … gone. Those who survive, remain in hiding and live by one rule: avoid all contact. Tjarra, a strong Aboriginal warrior, fears she is the last of her people, the traditional custodians of the southern nations. Reo, an Australian/Vietnamese cyber hacker, struggles with his paraplegic condition and ill health. Together they survive in the outer regions within the confines of a hidden military bunker. Reo assists Tjarra by utilising an old military satellite technology from within the bunker, allowing him to keep eyes on her from the sky, carefully tracking her in reconnaissance missions above ground. Hope it seems is hard to find in the midst of a storm.

Last Trial is a nonprofit unofficial Star Wars fanfilm shot in El Teide, Canary Islands with the collaboration of the official administration of the Teide national park and the Star Wars fan group Fuerza Imperial de Tenerife. It is not intended for commercial use and it is not associated in any way to Disney or Lucasfilm. This fanfilm has not been premiered and it is not open to the public on the internet.

In an attempt to stamp out the ever increasing number of male on female violent acts, in 2030 the British government passed a law requiring that all male – female courting/dating be regulated by them, through a dating app. So far the effect on relationships has been devastating. The effect on violence remains to be seen.

EXELCIA and ANGLE love each other even If they do not know it yet, Ben their owner mistreats ANGLE, his Al (artificial intelligence) daily, which acts as his personal assistant, while he always has a kind word for the sophisticated EXELCIA. Internet of Things with “Connected”, in Ben’s house, gives life to a comedy that makes us reflect, on the tremendous power our technological gadgets have in our lives. ANGLE, EXELCIA and Siri together with the video intercom and the stove actively meddle in Ben’s choices by organising a lunch for him where they invite both his girlfriend and his lover, to awaken him to the consciousness that seems to have been lost: and not only by Ben.
Animal 8:25 PM – Session: Mars Needs Women
Bitty and Minnie pilot their Post Haste Shipping Company vessel, delivering supplies for the ongoing and ambiguous rebuild of a collapsed America. For these pilots, their world is almost entirely contained to the inside of their ship – a self-driving behemoth with no windows onto the landscape that corporate assures them is haunted by dangerous Animals. Minnie has a vicious scar that seems to back up this warning. On a routine stop in a broken down Des Moines honky tonk, Bitty and Minnie chat with the gruff barkeep Dot. Dot peppers questions to Bitty and Minnie, since they are the only pilots she knows to ever be attacked by an Animal. Bitty bats away the questions, since she knows it was a drunken accident that led to Minnie’s jagged scar – not the Animal attack that they blamed it on. Saving them from more lies, they meet Pearl – a shiny, new penny of a woman. Young, passionate and artistic, Pearl delights Bitty and makes Minnie nervous. Eschewing corporate policy, Pearl stows away and soon disrupts the well-worn rhythm of life in the cage of their ship – awakening hidden ambitions and exposing buried bargains.

Red Earth imagines a world in the late Anthropocene, where large parts of Earth have become inhospitable to life. The story follows three generations of Martians, from the first colonists to the first expedition to return to an Earth decimated by interplanetary war.

After surviving a malfunction in the depths of space, Williams and his crew begin to experience memories that aren’t their own. Haunted by the inaction of his past, Williams attempts to hold onto his disappearing memories while coming to terms with a temporal anomaly that will force them to question mankind’s very understanding of time. With the past, present and future no longer separate, Williams will risk everything in order to rewrite what was written in the past.

Nathan and his girlfriend are struggling with the cost of living crisis in the UK, so when Nathan gets a chance to interview for a dream job, he jumps at it. After arriving in London for his interview, Nathan finds himself at a luxury apartment which feels a world away from his council flat on the estate. Nathan quickly realises that something is off when he’s faced with making an impossible decision that will affect the rest of his life. With the clock ticking, Nathan will have to decide whether to accept an opportunity of a lifetime or give up his memory of these events.

Cam’s relationship with Katie is on the rocks, but why fix something when you can just replace it with another one. Company follows an unemployed Cam who has been struggling to find the motivation to pursue anything, which causes tension between him and his girlfriend, Katie. Whilst Katie is at work, he finds comfort in another woman, but when Katie decides to surprise him for lunch, she comes home to discover this “other woman”, coming face-to-face with her. An awkward, confusing, fervent argument ensues, as things descend into an uncomfortable predicament, where all in their relationship is brought to light and scrutinized.

Through the Lens is a look into life in front of and behind the camera lens. This movie focuses on how Cosplay helps to create an alternate personality. Model Lorraine Toth explains how dressing up in costume also boosts confidence and using cosplay to over overcome personal struggles through portraying a character.

Alone on the dying red planet, among the ruins of human civilization, one last android desperately guards the last essences of life. In her pursuit for meaning, she finds her own soul hanging in the balance. Red Gaia is a tone-poem meditation on life, death and rebirth, destruction and creation and the cycles of existence, drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, Dante’s Purgatorio, the Kabballah, the Tibetan Bardol Thodol as well as the legendary science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.
SPACE PARADOX 7:25 PM – Session: Extraterrestrials Dating Humans on Earth
The space shuttle Orion has been launched from Earth to transfer and supply parts for the lunar exploration project. It is now heading toward the Lunar Gateway, a space station orbiting the moon. Suddenly, despite the smooth course of the voyage to that point, the disused Vanguard 1 satellite is swept up in a blanket of space debris and collides with Orion in a heavy impact. At this moment of imminent crisis, the astronauts onboard desperately try to escape, but Orion is about to explode, and space debris continues to threaten them. Will they survive and make it back home safely?
